Redstone Technologies and
Datanow LLC have developed software to assist HP3000 users in migrating
applications and reports from the 3000 to a Windows environment. Redstone Technologies has also
developed software to convert Cognos script files developed on the 3000 to
equivalent Datanow Report Writer for Windows script files that can be
executed on a Windows computer with either a SQL or Oracle database. Redstone software allows
users to easily move Image databases from the 3000 to corresponding SQL
databases on Windows computers.
In Windows, users can use Datanow Report Writer to quickly select,
report, and, if permitted, update their data. An easy-to-use GUI interface for
Datanow Report Writer allows users to report their data in a wide variety of
formats. Datanow Report Writer
provides a default report format that users can use to quickly browse through
the data in SQL or Oracle databases.
Users can also easily query the items and table structures in any
database. A What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get
report writer script language makes development and maintenance of reports
easy. Users can use existing
reports on the 3000 to generate the same reports on Windows. Datanow Report Writer
also provides for extracting data from SQL databases and creating flat files
in a variety of formats as well as new SQL tables in existing databases. Redstone Technologies
also provides services related to migrating data and reports from the 3000 to
a Windows environment.
